Arimia Organic Farm Tour & lunch
- Duration: 3 Hours (approx.)
- Location: Wilyabrup, Western Australia
- Product code: PMEBTG
At Arimia, we see ourselves as farmers first and feel we have a responsibility to care for this exceptionally beautiful piece of land and we are pleased to welcome anyone who would like to learn a little about how we produce our food and grow our grapes for the wines we produce.
Our Farm Tour starts from the restaurant at 11:00am where one of our team offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the vineyard operates and how we nurture and grow our fresh produce. Depending on the seasons this may include our trout pond to feed the fish, a visit to the bee hives and sample the honey, wander through the olive grow and rows of grape vines and get an understanding of oil and wine production, visit our pigs and find out how they are helping us clear the land of noxious pests, and of course our organic vegetable garden where we may pick some ingredients for your lunch.
The tour is followed by a sensational 5-course lunch in the restaurant. All of the food served in our restaurant is sourced from here on our farm or from ethical and sustainable local suppliers. This tour with one of our team offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the vineyard operates and how we nurture and grow our fresh produce.
Since the start, Arimia has operated entirely off the power grid, supplying our own water, producing minimal waste, and using organic and boidynamic principles to farm the land. The driver isn’t the wine or food itself but the positive impact the farm has on place through the production of wine and food. The restaurant and cellar door are a celebration of place: from the bottled wine and olive oil to the pork and trout dished up on the deck.
Everything on this property is a raw material with which something beautiful is produced – the belief is reciprocity - farming with a long-term philosophy: a commitment to improving the land for multiple generations to come.
Arimia is a 56ha property spanning both sides of Quininup Road in the Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River, just 2km from the Indian Ocean. The Estate is now a sustainably managed and organically certified mixed farm, with 8.4ha of vineyard, 2ha of olive grove, 1,000sqm of vegetable gardens, pigs, sheep and trout. This is the Arimia from which award-winning wines and head chef Evan Hayter’s cutting edge food comes. Please note:
